The Runes are known to many people
who have an interest in divination, ancient traditions, Viking
history, the history of the Nordic languages, or associated
subjects.
Nevertheless, they remain a lesser-known form of divination
than other methods such as Astrology, Tea-Leaf reading, Palm
reading, Tarot Card
reading, and Crystal Ball gazing - to mention just a few.
Each method of divination has its enthusiasts (both readers
and sitters) and it's own history and other associations.
Astrology, for example, has been practiced for millennia -
perhaps the most famous incident being that of the "Wise
Men" seeking the baby Jesus Christ by following a star.
Other traditions are also be anchored at specific points in
time, such as the dates of specific Tarot Decks in circulation
during the Middle Ages.
The earliest ancient history of any of these techniques is
probably impossible to ascertain but we have included a page
of the general history of runes.
